The distant past still lives in these tintype photos from the 1800s. Tintypes enjoyed their widest use during the 1860s and 1870s. A tintype is a photograph made by creating a direct positive on a thin sheet of iron coated with a dark lacquer or enamel. The authentic vintage photos are set in a base and sealed in resin. A very unique tribute to an earlier time.
